  • Communion at LCC

    Communion

At LCC, we celebrate Communion every other week as a time to remember Jesus Christ, reflect on His sacrifice, and give thanks for His love and grace. Through the bread and the cup, we remember His body given for us and His blood shed for the forgiveness of our sins. Communion is a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and renew our focus on Jesus as we worship together as a church family.

  • Children and adults gathered in a dimly lit room, some standing and some sitting, with one boy holding a birthday candle on a plate in front of him.

    Family Worship

Our Sunday worship service begins with the whole congregation gathered together, including children of all ages. During this time of family worship, children participate alongside their parents and the rest of the church family. After our time of family worship, children ages six and under are dismissed to their children's class. Children older than six remain with the congregation for the remainder of the service, including the preaching of God's Word.

    Worship Music

Our worship blends the rich truths of historic hymns with modern worship songs that are rich in biblical theology. We sing both timeless hymns and contemporary songs from groups like CityAlight and Sovereign Grace Music, choosing songs that point our hearts to Christ and help us respond to the truth of God's Word. Our desire is not simply to sing songs we enjoy, but to worship intentionally, proclaim biblical truth, and encourage one another through the words we sing. Whether an old hymn or a modern song, we want our worship to be centered on Christ, grounded in Scripture, and full of gratitude for the grace God has shown us.

Children are welcome at Lynchburg City Church, and we believe they are an important and valued part of our church family. We love having children worship alongside us and believe that gathering together as a church helps them grow in their understanding of God, build relationships, and experience the love of a church community.

We know visiting a new church with children can come with questions, and we want to make your experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming your family!
